which houses the BA in Music (Performance and Music Education Pre-Certification), BS in Music Recording Technology, BS in Audio Production, BA in Theatre (Performance and Technical Theatre)

and service courses in Oral Communication and Humanities

is seeking to fill a faculty position at the Assistant

P

rofessor level beginning Fall 2023.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate must be committed to teaching undergraduate courses in

Music Education, Piano Minor,

Humanities,

and other discipline-related topics. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the scholarly advancement of the department, the School of Liberal Arts and Education, and the University through a productive research agenda that includes grantsmanship as well as service activities. Successful candidates are expected to advise majors and hold office hours.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have

a

doctoral degree in Music Education, Music Performance

, or a

closely

related field from an accredited university. Experience in and evidence of successful

full-time

teaching in a

K-12 and

university setting is

required

.  Preference will be given to candidates with

demonstrated

experience in research and grantsmanship. Although there is an expectation of

hiring

at the Assistant Professor rank, we will consider filling the position at a higher rank depending upon the qualifications of the applicant. Rank and compensation are

commensurate

with credentials and experience.
