Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer and Controller, the Assistant Controller/Vice President of Financial Reporting and Accounting will lead financial reporting, general ledger accounting, accounting systems and related internal controls for WWE, a publicly traded integrated media organization and recognized leader in global entertainment.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the Financial Reporting and General Accounting functions and teams, which include the following:
o Research and documentation of technical accounting issues and implementation of accounting policies and technical accounting treatment
o Accounting close processes (monthly, quarterly, annual)
o Preparation and review of information in support of internal audits and the external auditor's annual financial audits and quarterly reviews
• Provide leadership to the overall accounting and financial organizations, working toward a single
• Provide leadership to the multi-year Finance Transformation project, including the implementation of Workday Financials
• Ensure compliance with professional standards, SEC, and GAAP reporting guidelines
• Prepare quarterly financial statements and supporting documents, including quarterly communications with the Company's Audit Committee
• Continuously improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the accounting, closing and reporting processes
• Oversee and improve controls over financial reporting
• Ensure accuracy and usefulness of accounting work through detailed reviews and expanded analytical reviews
• Document policies and procedures surrounding accounting processes
Requirements:
• 15 years of related professional experience, focused primarily on Financial Reporting and G/L Accounting
• Corporate Accounting experience and CPA required; Public Accounting firm experience preferred
• Entertainment/Media industry experience preferred
• Experience implementing ERP systems and transforming processes and roles and responsibilities
• SEC reporting experience
• Able to anticipate, identify, and resolve complex financial reporting and accounting issues
• Outstanding leadership skills, including among peers in Finance org
• Successful track record of team building, thought leadership, and quantifiable business accomplishments
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Able to make effective presentations to senior level executives and large groups
• Able to juggle multiple projects and priorities and re-prioritize as necessary to align with current business needs
• Excellent computer skills including MS Office applications
• Workday Financials experience a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field of study required
• Master's degree in Accounting or closely related field of study strongly preferred
