Summary:
The Curation & Operations group sits within the Viacom Streaming Group. Within this group, the Senior Director will be leading a large curation team that is responsible for powering our consumer site and app experiences for: BET , BET, Comedy Central, CMT, LogoTV, MTV, Paramount Network, Smithsonian, TVLand and Vh1, as well as our global event experiences, including the Video Music Awards, the European Music Awards and VidCon.
The Senior Director must think both short- and long-term to ensure ViacomCBS sites and apps stay updated with the most current content, and to ensure the team is using new product features in compelling ways. This role will oversee the end-to-end curation workflow cycle, including the production and scheduling of full episodes, movies, show clips, events and exclusive videos. The goal for this role is to strive for operational efficiency for content delivery, and to support product enhancements that will drive revenue.
The Senior Director works closely with teams across ViacomCBS offices globally. As content is a crucial part of the business model, it is important to have strong working relationships across the organization with linear programming, product development and brand stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and mentor a team of up to 20 senior managers, managers and coordinators to ensure efficient around-the-clock curation support across all Viacom websites, apps, and events
• Develop and maintain close relationships with brand programming in the implementation/execution of programming strategies and digital content plans
• Design effective workflows with internal teams and brand stakeholders to ensure quality of processes, and efficient exchange of assets and deliverables
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree
• 10 years leading high-priority multiplatform initiatives at a major media company and/or creative interactive agency
• 5 years leading and supporting a team
• 3 years using a major CMS
Additional Requirements:
• Ability to promote a strong, positive team culture
• Proven track-record of multi-tasking and overseeing numerous projects of various sizes, while managing client expectations
• Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects and multiple team members simultaneously
• Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to lead and motivate people, and encourage teamwork
• Capable of negotiation, problem solving and conflict resolution
• Outstanding and careful attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum and other methodologies including traditional waterfall approaches
• Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence a plus
