New online Australian legal practice needs an Illustrator/Cartoonist - Initial fixed price and ongoing weekly
We require the services of an Illustrator/cartoonist with vector-based illustration on website experience.
Reasonable English necessary. Preferred near-Australian timezone but not essential for the right person.
Task
There is an initial task and then an ongoing task.
The initial task for the successful applicant would be to produce 20-25 vector illustrations, reimagining existing examples as conceptual base, for placement on our website. Delivery by SVGs.
We need this work done now in time for our imminent launch (1 June). We have just today had a last minute re-evaluation of our current illustration strategy...
There is the likelihood, then, for ongoing work to illustrate social media placements, future website pages and other assets (say, 2 per week).

Illustration brief for initial task.
There are 20-25 current illustrations on the website that require re-imagining and production. Each illustration must feature the same gender-neutral caricature, although the character may appear in groups (of itself) or in pictures representing an adult and a child version of the character engaged in a simple, daily task.
A sample of the current illustrations is represented in the document enclosed.
The style we have at the moment, which we like, is intentionally unrefined and naive, as a rejection of the cliché floaty-wavy website illustration style that almost all websites currently have.
The main goal is to evoke warmth of feeling. The current caricature achieves that, but is missing a level of visual impact.
The brief is to take the following illustrations, and reimagine them with a similarly unrefined, naive style, that nevertheless achieves a higher level of visual impact.
Things to consider:
• How can the container be filled to create more interest?
• How can the shape/composition of the caricature be changed to achieve a more powerful communication through body language?
From prospective applicants
We require a re-working of one of the conceptual samples in the enclosure, not necessarily fully resolved at this stage. We just need to see an indication of your capacity to express delicacy of feeling in the naive style, along with fundamental technical skills..
