The successful candidate will be an early career producer with experience in the social media realm. This position is part of NPR Music’s team focusing on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and other social platforms. In this role, the candidate will work with content creators to develop plans for engaging with our audience across platforms. The candidate should be able to guide content creators on effective use of social media editorial projects. This position reports to the Deputy Director for NPR Music with a dotted line to the Deputy Director of NPR Visuals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Execute the social media strategy designed by the senior management of NPR Music.
• Create social media storytelling/content for NPR Music’s social media platforms and accounts.
• Coordinate with other NPR social editors on planning, scheduling and experimentation
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 1 year of social media experience in a professional setting
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Passionate about music, with knowledge of multiple genres
• Fluency in Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and Facebook
• Understanding of graphic design (Canva, Photoshop)
• Strong writing skills
• Proven ability to see around corners in the social media space, identifying actionable trends and intriguing technology
• Experience implementing social media tools and techniques
• Ability and willingness to work varied shifts
• Proven ability to both work independently and work well with others
This position is covered under the terms of a collective bargaining agreement with SAG-AFTRA. The minimum annualized salary for this position is $65,000.
