JOB SUMMARY: Supervises the daily operation of the Costume Warehouse. Responsible for assisting Costume Fabrication management team by supervising in the install and strike of Costume Warehouse projects for Marquee Events, Special Events, and Capital Projects. They ensure the elements are completed in accordance with established policies and procedures. This includes oversight of all the related project functions, including but not limited to support in costume presets, documentation of inventory, and warehouse management. Keeps venue management and other stakeholders informed of progress throughout event set up and strike.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises the daily operations and organization of the Costume Warehouse; including monitoring and scheduling staff and ensuring that all standard operating procedures are followed. Accountable to administer all company policies & procedures as well as handle employee relations issues pertaining to the Costume Warehouse. Provides work direction to Warehouse Coordinators, Leads, and Attendants. Provides consistent feedback for both recognition and improvement to team members working in the Costume Warehouse or on relevant projects.
Serve as point of contact for building issues at the Costume Warehouse and Costume Fabrication. Meet with vendors to gather quotations and provide instruction to vendors of work needed. Work with department management and facilities to secure funding and book work. Responsible for completing monthly housekeeping and safety reports.
Responsible for creating and presenting materials and labor estimates for Special Events costumes needed from Costume Fabrication and/or the Costume Warehouse. Supervise, organize, and participate in Special Event fittings as needed. Assist with the development and organization of new projects and events, attend and participate in dress rehearsals and show openings as needed.
Responsible for scheduling annual safety training for Costume Fabrication and Warehouse staff, and for ensuring all team members stay current on safety trainings including new hires.
Responsible for maintaining inventory by tracking materials from receiving to distributing material to areas on company property or outside companies. Ensures that all deliveries and orders are stored or pulled in the required time and that personnel are meeting their requirements. Ensures that all rush and emergency orders are selected and delivered to SOP. Work with the Costume Service, Marquee Operations, and Special Events areas to integrate new and replacement costumes into operations. Trouble shoots issues as needed. Assist in maintaining proper par levels.
Perform proper and timely additional leadership tasks including:
Daily time keeping, payroll and scheduling
Warehouse Team member training
Development of SOPs & Work expectations
Performance evaluations of Warehouse staff
Maintain staffing levels and hire new employees as needed
Communicate with management, attend and participate in staff meetings
Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High school degree or GED is required.
Technical school is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in theater, film production, stage management or hospitality events is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
1 year of supervisory experience required.
Prior training and practical experience in Technical Theatrical or Costuming, and/or live event planning and execution or equivalent combination of education and experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Florida Driver’s License is required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Ability to drive box truck up to 16 ft. in length required.
