Do you love television? Are you passionate about reviewing content? Do you love to write? Exciting opportunity to partner with top writing and production talent and write and direct voice overs for programme links and end credits. This role gives an unbeatable overview of television production as this person liaises with multiple departments playing a key part in every stage of the broadcasting process. You will be a people person who can manage relationships with a diverse range of freelance creatives, confident at dealing with multiple departments across the business including planning and presentation, strategy teams, media planners, research and operations.
What will you be doing?
This person is operationally and editorially responsible for performing excellent continuity alongside a team of announcers and writers, ensuring the brand is reflected accurately in all continuity output. You'll have top notch writing skills and a passion for television as you plan and edit scripts that guide viewers around the channel 5 portfolio.
• Be responsible for the operational process of all recorded continuity items to ensure accurate transmission.
• Editorial; edit/review scripts to ensure accuracy and quality, according to the brand and OFCOM regulations.
• Brief freelance creatives in line with the planned strategy and creative brief, and by viewing priority content.
• Direct and feedback to voice over artists and script writers, in-line with brand tone of voice, and by monitoring output.
• Represent continuity in cross department meetings, to plan and review weekly output.
• Write scripts, programme guides or copy to contribute to priority on-air campaigns.
• Adopt the ‘One ViacomCBS' approach and encourage collaboration and team working
• Be an ambassador for all VCNI channels, internally and externally
• Adopt and promote the ViacomCBS values and support a culture of inclusion
What are we looking for?
• Demonstrable experience within continuity is preferable or equivalent experience in a broadcast Creative Department.
• A flair for writing short conversational scripts to specific durations.
• Attention to detail is vital from editing scripts to tracking schedule changes.
• Great communication skills as you liaise closely with internal departments and external agents.
• The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines in a professional manner.
• Deomonstrable experience of working with audio recording/edit equipment/software.
• Experience of working with scheduling software.
• Excellent standard of English language skills.
