Profile

: The Scotia Suzuki School of Music, with a staff of 18 Suzuki trained teachers serves approx. 270 students, and has been growing consistently since opening in 2017. Halifax is a diverse port city, in addition to the Suzuki method we do yearly cultural music projects. Summer teaching is available.
Duties
: Teaching up to 30 hours of a combination of the following duties:
-Teach students violin using the Suzuki method in both private and group class settings.
- Participation in faculty and program meetings and events.
Qualifications
: Bachelor of Music; Master of Music in Performance preferred.
SAA Suzuki Violin Book 3 teacher training or higher.
Teaching videos will be requested.
Excellent communication and enthusiasm for teaching the Suzuki method to children ages 3 and up.
Canadian citizen or permanent resident to apply.
Salary
: Competitive compensation based on qualifications and experience with a bonus program.
Position for an independent contractor, starting with approx. 20 or more after school, private teaching hours a week, twice a month Saturday group classes. (Less hours could be requested by the applicant)
