Responsibilities
Telemundo CT / WRDM is seeking a multi-platform commercial & promotion producer to join the stations Creative Services department.
Telemundo Connecticut / WRDM is co-located with NBC Connecticut / WVIT in West Hartford, serving local Spanish- and English-speaking viewers in the Hartford/New Haven market. Telemundo CT airs Telemundo Boston's weekday newscasts, “Noticiero Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra”. Noticiero Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra is produced by Telemundo Boston and includes reports from Hartford and Boston-based reporters, and delivers 10 hours of live, local breaking news and information each week to Spanish-speaking viewers in the Hartford/New Haven and Boston DMAs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Participates and coordinates all parts of the creation of a TV spot from inception to broadcast.
• Includes pre-production and planning meetings with the marketing department, account sales executives, and clients; script writing, professional voice over and selection of music bed.
• Operating of all portable video (field cameras), lighting, and audio equipment.
• Transports and sets up all required lighting and audio equipment including lavalieres, wireless receivers, hand-held and shotgun microphones.
• Provides limited troubleshooting and maintenance of field production equipment.
• In post-production selects footage, tape logging, rough cuts, audio adjustments, edits, add graphics, voice over, music bed and includes sound effects to create the final product utilizing Adobe Premiere Pro editing software, along with other Abode CC software (After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, etc).
• Exports final spots; makes video copies for clients and broadcast.
Responsible for the quality of each commercial produced.
• Quality control can involve several duties, such as verifying accurate information and placing legal disclaimers into advertisement spots if required.
• Producer must also verify that commercials meet certain legal and broadcasting standards.
• Reviews productions to ensure objectives are attained according to client requirements and ensures production is ready for air prior to start date.
• Conceptualize, write, edit, produce and/or shoot image campaigns to entrench and to extend station brand.
• Researches and writes scripts for spots, vignettes and other promotions. Selects video and coordinates the graphic design production for spots. Provides creative concepts and ideas for spots. Prepares storyboards for station branding, station initiatives and special spots.
• Maintains look of video, vignettes, graphic presentations and scripts.
• Participates at station promotional events as necessary.
• Serves as on-camera host and conducts interviews for Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra's “Acceso Total” lifestyle show; produces both full-length segments and cutdowns for air. Collaborates with creative & sales teams to form new ideas for sponsor integrations and helps drive them to fruition.
• Assists with content production of English-language commercial/promo/PSA projects airing on NBC Connecticut on an as-needed basis, including but not limited to cross-promotion for “CT Live!,” NBC Connecticut's lifestyle show.
• Records voice overs for local commercial spots and show segments as needed.
Qualifications
/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) both written and verbal.
