Responsibilities
The Studio Operations Manager is a full-time position leading the Studio's Technical Operations team, focused on the operation of technology solutions including Production Switchers, Control Room Automation, Audio Consoles, Robotic Cameras, and other and other studio & digital production equipment, to produce sports programming distributed to consumers on a variety of platforms. This position is a critical part of delivering world class support, innovative new technology, enabling operational change and driving smart business solutions. Reporting locally to the VP, Operations, and a part of the Operations Leadership Team, the Studio Operations Manager will be the client facing role, responsible for the direct supervision of the studio operations team, overseeing the execution of produced content, both onsite at the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. This position will drive high quality, professional productions, championing technology innovation to showcase our content, while maintaining a high level of quality control. This candidate must have experience in managing and developing technical operations staffs, with an understanding of current and emerging technologies/workflows within the production environment.
• Lead full and part time studio production personnel including Show Directors, Automation Operators, and other technical positions.
• Drive ownership and accountability within the team
• Strong collaboration with production and senior management to maximize resources, ensure a quality, seamless production in a changing, fast-paced, live studio environment
• Responsible for maintaining the highest technical standards
• Review metrics, develop KPIs and demonstrate consistent improvements in daily production
• Make recommendations to improve workflows and production techniques
• Scheduling of all operations staff, daily hires and maintaining an adequate staffing pool
• Responsible for hiring, training and cross training to enhance skill sets, performance evaluation and continuous feedback
• Budget accountability and responsibility
• Ability to help troubleshoot technical issues and clearly communicate technical issues to Engineering Team while maintaining communication with Operations and Content Teams
• Managing projects from concept to deployment
• Must be available beyond traditional business hours to support the needs of production
Qualifications
/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent experience, with 5 years' industry experience preferred
• Proven track record in live & recorded studio and event-based production
• Managing and developing of high performing production teams
• Experience in managing a labor union represented workforce
