Job Overview
This role consists of both administrative and operational support functions. The Onboarding Coordinator is responsible for facilitating and organizing onboarding requests, engineering projects, and operations support. It is also responsible for providing Tier 1 operations support and onboarding services.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities
Communicate and manage information regarding onboarding projects to project stakeholders.
Request information and assets needed for the engineer(s) to complete tasks.
Assess, report, and manage the capacity of the Onboarding team with the Onboarding Manager.
Schedule onboards and projects in accordance with business needs and production timelines.
Update and maintain SDI's specification and tutorial database, as required.
Coordinate production rollout of new workflows, leading communication, distributing materials, and enforcing timelines with engineers.
Maintain the internal task management system workflows needed by production.
Coordinate support for daily operations by monitoring and assigning help desk tickets as they arrive.
Identify gaps and help improve onboarding procedures, including documentation and implementation.
Onboard new media and metadata specifications and workflows.
Provide support for daily operations issues by resolving assigned help desk tickets.
Support the Director of Global Media Engineering in the design, documentation, training, implementation, and maintenance of new software or hardware tools.
Specific Responsibilities:
Advanced written and verbal communication language skills to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
Basic knowledge of video, audio, metadata, and the post-production environment.
Advanced computer skills and the ability to understand and work with a variety of software tools in a production environment .
Familiarity with computer system networking concepts and terminology.
Knowledge of technical specifications and their uses (.e.g. codecs, wrappers, VBI, closed captioning, frame rates, aspect ratios, bit rates, color space, GOP structures, standards conversion, and metadata).
MS Word, Project, Excel, Visio, and File Maker Pro.
Must be quick to adapt to shifting priorities.
Ability to work additional hours as necessitated by the work load.
Ability to be on call to provide after hours or weekend support for operations when needed.
Ability to work onsite to fulfill daily operational support needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of two years work experience in the entertainment Industry, preferably in some level of a technical capacity.
Experience with content transformation applications not limited to Final Cut, Digital Rapids, Rhozet and Protools.
Experience with post-production hardware (e.g. Tape decks, Vector scopes, captioning, text inserters, signal flow, patch-bays)
Experience with file transport technologies (e.g. Aspera, Signiant, smartjog, FTP)
Project or account management experience preferred.
Knowledge of the basic technical specifications for media i.e. codecs, wrappers, frame rates, aspect ratios, is a large benefit.
