Full Time Job
The controller position will play a vital role in ensuring the financial health of the company. This role will report directly to the CFO and is responsible for providing projects with production finance support. This position also has a hand in corporate finance matters including regular AP/AR and end-of-year reporting.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Film and/or Television production accounting or studio production finance
- In-depth understanding of film and television industry accounting and finance practices
- Knowledge and experience with union/guild agreements
- Knowledge of state and international tax incentive laws and credits
- Familiarity with Quickbooks and Bill.com a huge plus
Responsibilities:
- Corporate Accounting needs include AP/AR and End of year accounting (with the help of our Accountant)
- Protecting company assets through cash management, policies, and procedures,
- Provide projects with the production finance support
- Collaborate with Line Producers, Production Managers, Accounting Staff, and the Wayfarer team
- Manage production incentive workflow and ensure receipt of tax credits or cash
- Manage the cash flow and funding processes
- Review production budgets, cost reports, trial balances, and petty cash reconciliations prepared by production Accountants
- Support the fiscal management and administration of all internal and external facets of assigned television productions
- Must be knowledgeable of the financing aspects of all projects on Wayfarer Slate including (but not limited to): co-production deal structure, deficit calculation, network/studio breakages and tax credits estimates
- Manage quarterly corporate reporting process
- Provide Production Finance support to Production's and Business Affairs teams on projects
- Closely monitor the financials of projects in production
- Manage production incentive workflow of assigned shows, including but not limited to applications, audits, qualified expense tracking, ensure receipt of tax credits or cash and assist with tax incentive analysis to determine the best location to capture the highest return of rebates and tax credits to the network
- Coordinate Production Accounting compliance audits to support Production Finance efforts
- Ensure adherence to all production accounting best practices
- Coordinate transfer of production accounting responsibilities from production accountant to post-production accounting
- Perform ad hoc financial analyses and miscellaneous projects as needed
Salary
