The Los Angeles office of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. has an exciting opportunity for a mid-level associate with at least five years of experience to join our film and television legal services group. The position will focus on entertainment-related transactions and development and production legal matters involving top producers of content across all platforms, scripted and unscripted.
Essential Responsibilities:
Negotiate and draft film/television/new media agreements covering all facets of development and production including option/purchase agreements, co-production and production services agreements, talent agreements (writer, director, and actor), license agreements, and other production-related agreements; counsel clients on various matters to ensure compliance with applicable employment, privacy, and health and safety laws and regulations; and review scripts and outlines to advise clients on defamation, privacy, trademark, and copyright issues.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• JD and member of the California State Bar (active and in good standing);
• 5 years of experience in-house with a studio or production company or with a major law firm/established entertainment boutique law firm;
• Entertainment transactional experience required;
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills;
• Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and computer literacy;
• Able to work independently and as part of a team;
• Strong work ethic;
• Able to handle multiple, high priority tasks in a fast-paced environment;
• Precise attention to detail;
• Responsive and a problem-solver.
